If you are travelling outside Lebanon, go to Airlines. There are no internal flights in Lebanon as all areas are easily accessible by car. With no impressive network of public transport, people rely heavily on cars. Taxis are widely available. Book them from companies such  as Allo Taxi: (1) 366661 or Beirut Taxi:(1) 805418, Dabour Taxi (1) 346690 or Best Taxi (1) 567299 who offers clients leaflets  with their destinations and fares clearly printed. You could also 'hail and ride' a taxi from the road and you're on your way. Taxis are not metered, so you might like to agree on the fare before your ride...But why not take a cheaper ride by a service which basically is a taxi that you share with other passengers going along a particular route. Flag down any car with a red license plate along that route, share it with passengers and share the fare.
Taxis also depart to other parts of Lebanon and to other neighboring countries from the central bus station Charles Helou. Travel in a taxi all for yourself and pay for five passengers or share it and pay for one. You could also rent a car and tour as you please. Car rental companies are widely available. Buses also operate on a hail and ride basis anywhere along designated routes. They leave Charles Helou station to different destinations. Their network is quite extensive and while they have no timetables, they are quite frequent, operating till around 9:30pm.
